Job Summary: Our PTA program is looking for two interns to help run the front desk of the SLCC OT/PT Pro Bono clinic as well as offer clerical and event planning support for our PTA program. The main duties for this internship will be running the pro bono office such as scheduling clients, taking phone calls, greeting patients, stocking & ordering supplies, and marketing our clinic/ PTA program. Interns should be available to work after classes M-Thurs and on Fridays in person with some occasional remote work assigned. This internship is open only to current PTA students who have been accepted into the program.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work under the OT and PT Pro Bono director to ensure smooth operations of the therapy clinic including scheduling clients, maintaining both physical and online client records, as well as keeping the labs, pool and exercise gym clean and safe.
- Utilize multiple software applications including many apps in the Microsoft 360 package such as Excel, Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Teams, Word, and Bookings as well as learn how to program and utilize the clinic Medical Check-In Software to track client data
- Act as a liaison between SLCC PTA officers and the SLCC coordinator of student clubs and organizations to assist in planning PTA club events
- Assist in organizing marketing and collaborative events such as the SLCC Physical Therapy Health Fair, the Special Olympics and provide tours of our campus/program to high school students interested in Physical Therapy
- Professional representation of SLCC and our programs to the community

- Accepted into the SLCC PTA Program
- High School Graduate or GED
Preferred Qualifications: Previous office administration work preferred, but not required Previous job experience as a PT aide or working in a health-related field is preferred, but not required Associates degree Conversational Spanish
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to work the hours mentioned above Working knowledge of Microsoft 360 software package Adept with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Forms and Bookings Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
